Indicative of 2022 bathroom design trends, the homeowners of this West Lafayette home wanted to create a personalized private bathroom space that provided tranquility, style, and easy maintenance. Beyond a stylish design, they also wanted their private bathroom to be more comfortable. Like many homeowners, they were living with a bathroom vanity that sat too low to the ground. The existing tile and tub had been covered but were starting to peel. The master bathroom featured a tub, without a walk-in shower.
Keeping within the existing floor plan, Riverside Construction designed a new private retreat that provided all of the amenities the homeowners desired. The tub was replaced with a custom, walk-in shower. The old brick red tile flooring was replaced with 12×24 wood grain-like tile flooring from Daltile. The old vanity was removed and replaced with custom Wellborn cabinets finished in a Glacier paint.
The walls in the walk-in shower were designed using white subway tile in a brick lay and 2-inch mosaic square tiles on the floor. For essentials, we carved out a niche in the shower that was accented in Lungarno linear accent tile. We then added custom seating for the homeowners’ enhanced comfort and safety.
Other details of this private bathroom space include an updated vanity seating area, beautiful quartz countertops, and Venetian bronze hardware and fixtures.
