The homeowners of this West Lafayette kitchen desired a complete renovation that would reflect their love for mid-century Scandinavian design. The existing kitchen was outdated, with bulky soffits, limited storage, and a layout that didn’t fully meet their needs. They sought to remove the soffits, improve storage, and introduce a sleek, modern design while incorporating practical features like a gas range, double stainless steel sink, and easy-to-maintain flooring.
Riverside Construction transformed the kitchen into a sleek and functional space by removing the soffits, installing simple and modern Showplace cabinetry in a combination of Walnut Wood with a Natural stain and Simpli White finishes, and adding Q Quartz Snow White countertops. The backsplash was completed with decorative mosaics in a Lattice Weave Currant pattern, adding a touch of subtle texture to the clean lines of the design.
For the appliances, a ZLINE Kitchen & Bath gas range and KitchenAid refrigerator were installed, with an under-cabinet InSinkErator Compact garbage disposal. The homeowners opted for brushed nickel fixtures, including a Delta Arctic Stainless pull-down faucet and Amerock Satin Nickel cabinet hardware to complement the minimalist aesthetic. The flooring was replaced with durable Marazzi Costa Clara ceramic tile in a Caribbean Teal color, providing an easy-to-maintain surface with a pop of color.
A custom-built pantry replaced the old lazy susan, offering efficient storage with sliding shelves for spices and other kitchen essentials. The lighting was updated with a Hunter Minimus brushed nickel LED ceiling fan and additional under-cabinet lighting, ensuring the kitchen is well-lit and functional.
The completed renovation brought the homeowners’ vision to life, creating a kitchen that is both beautiful and highly functional. The mid-century Scandinavian style is evident in the clean lines, natural wood tones, and minimalist design elements, all while providing the practical features needed for daily use. The kitchen now offers ample storage, modern appliances, and a warm, inviting atmosphere that reflects the homeowners' style and meets their needs.
