This West Lafayette homeowner purchased a new home and soon discovered that the refrigerator leaked and damaged the hardwood flooring. Turning a negative into a positive, they turned their misfortune into an opportunity to remodel their kitchento fit all of their functional needs.
While the kitchen was large and spacious, they wanted a more functional layout with a new island, increased storage capacity, and a new stainless steel Wolf range.
Riverside Construction replaced the existing white builder-grade cabinets with custom ceiling-height Showplace EVO hickory cabinets, designed with a Lexington door style in a Montana Character stain. Not only did this immediately improve the design aesthetics, but the new cabinets also gave them the added storage capacity they needed.
The new large island was designed with seating for two and painted in a Naval color, providing a complementary, yet striking, contrast to the perimeter cabinets. The existing black countertops were replaced with Glacier White Q™ Premium Quartz, a combination of white and muted gray that looks like marble veining. Creating a unique focal point in the room, the backsplash was finished in a unique Mesmerist™ Mystique Arabesque Mosaic tile.
By relocating the refrigerator, the range wall gained the space to allow for a new enlarged Wolf stainless steel gas range and matching hood.
The leaky refrigerator was replaced, the kitchen was transformed, and these West Lafayette homeowners are now enjoying a kitchen that functions with everything they asked for—style, elegance, increased storage capacity, new appliances, improved workflow, and more space.
