This West Lafayette family moved into their new home knowing that they would eventually make changes to their partially unfinished basement. After living in their home for a short while, and after attempting to make the basement updates themselves, they soon realized they would need professional remodeling assistance.
Our clients met with Riverside Construction and started their project in early July. The basement design plan included a new guest bedroom, which required an egress window and a new full-size closet; an updated living room, and a new shower in the existing basement bathroom.
Not only did this renovation provide ideal guest accommodations and a comfortable living room for the family to enjoy, but it also proved to be a smart investment that would increase their home’s resale value, should the family decide to move.
Riverside updated the basement living space with crisp white baseboards, additional electrical outlets, new ceiling tiles, and updated lighting. The laundry room received the same cosmetic updates along with new Redwood sheet vinyl flooring.
The existing bathroom was transformed into a full bath by carving out a 3’ x 3’ space out of the mechanical closet to accommodate the new shower. Cosmetic updates to the bathroom also included Redwood sheet vinyl flooring and new ceiling tiles.
