The homeowners needed a functional update to their hall bathroom, primarily used by their teenage son but also designed with their own future needs in mind. The space was outdated and lacked efficient storage, and the existing tub/shower combination was no longer practical. The goal was to create a brighter, refreshed bathroom that incorporated ample storage, modern finishes, and thoughtful features like a glass-enclosed shower and future-proof grab bars for aging-in-place.
To address the homeowners' needs, the remodel began by replacing the old tub with a new walk-in shower featuring a custom glass enclosure. A recessed shower niche opposite the showerhead was included to keep bath products neatly organized, while a triangular bench added comfort and convenience. The shower walls were finished with elegant 12x24 tiles and accented with pebble-textured details for added visual interest.
Storage was prioritized with a full-height linen cabinet for towels and toiletries, as well as a custom dark wood vanity with soft-close drawers for everyday essentials. The cultured marble countertop in a light finish provided a durable, low-maintenance surface that complemented the cabinetry's dark wood stain. Brushed nickel fixtures were selected for the sink and shower, striking a balance between functionality and style.
For the flooring, watertight luxury vinyl tile was chosen to ensure durability and easy maintenance. Future-proofing elements included the installation of discreet grab bars, solid wood blocking for future upgrades, and a bench to accommodate the homeowners' needs as they age.
Lighting and ventilation were also addressed with a new LED exhaust fan and updated light fixtures, ensuring a well-lit and comfortable space.
The completed remodel delivers a bright, functional, and stylish hall bathroom that serves both immediate and long-term needs. The glass-enclosed shower, custom cabinetry, and thoughtful storage solutions have transformed the space into a modern, efficient bathroom the homeowners can enjoy for years to come.
