With a unique view overlooking Purdue’s football field, this renovation started with the homeowner’s need to exchange a dated, retro pink bathtub, lime green wall tile, and brown shag carpeting, for a bright, new fully immersed master bathroom.
As a taller individual, this homeowner struggled with the height of her existing countertops—frequently bending over the vanity and causing unnecessary back strain. Keeping the existing footprint of the room, we were presented with a unique challenge of keeping the existing cabinetry, which matched the rest of the home and built-in cabinetry on an adjacent wall.
As a solution, we installed an extra thick Quartz countertop in Tropical white (without affecting the cabinets) to give the extra height that our client was looking for, while also creating a beautifully dramatic, and elegant statement.
The existing tub/shower and toilet area were gutted entirely making room for a contemporary oversize glass shower, complete with built-in bench seating and a stainless steel Delta multi-function showerhead and hand-held shower. The brown shag carpeting was removed, revealing beautiful hardwood floors, which were sanded, cleaned and polished to bring them back to their original beauty.
