The homeowners desired a modern walk-in shower with durable finishes, improved water flow, and thoughtful features like a corner bench and storage niche. While maintaining simplicity, they also wanted to incorporate design elements for future accessibility.
The remodel began with removing the outdated fiberglass shower unit and replacing it with a spacious walk-in shower. Floor-to-ceiling tile was installed to add a sense of height and luxury, while a corner bench and a recessed shampoo niche offered functionality. To meet the homeowners' preference for minimalism, the niche was designed to accommodate bar soaps rather than large bottles.
Brushed nickel fixtures were chosen for the showerhead, grab bar, and hardware, creating a cohesive, clean look. A single hinged glass door replaced the old sliding unit, allowing light to flow through the space while maintaining a modern aesthetic. The shower floor was finished with durable and water-resistant tile, ensuring both safety and beauty.
A dedicated light was added over the shower to improve visibility, and solid wood blocking was installed for the grab bar to enhance future accessibility. The tub area was also updated with matching tile to tie the entire bathroom together, creating a unified and refreshed space.
The finished remodel successfully transforms the bathroom into a modern, functional retreat. The walk-in shower, thoughtful storage solutions, and brushed nickel fixtures enhance usability and style, while the addition of improved lighting makes the space feel brighter and more inviting.
