This unique project on N. 21st Street in Lafayette involved revamping a rental property soon to become the owners’ primary residence. Both the kitchen and bathroom were significantly outdated and poorly laid out, making them feel cramped despite their actual size.
The kitchen transformation began with the decision to replace the back door with a window, matching an existing one, to maximize countertop space and improve functionality. This change allowed for a more efficient arrangement of appliances and provided much-needed storage.
In the bathroom, to maintain cost-efficiency and ensure low maintenance, a fiberglass shower surround was installed. This necessitated the removal of an existing window but opened up the space considerably, allowing for a more spacious and practical layout. To fulfill the clients’ desire for maximum storage, a custom linen closet was added next to the shower, complementing the vanity and toilet topper cabinet. The design theme from the kitchen was extended to the bathroom, creating a cohesive aesthetic between the two spaces.
The completed project on N. 21st Street brought new life to both the kitchen and bathroom, transforming them into modern, functional, and cohesive spaces. The clients were able to move into a home that not only met their needs but also reflected their personal style and preference for practicality and low maintenance.
